Nucchinunde or Nucchina Unde is a traditional Karnataka snack, dumplings of lentils, and coconut and steamed. Nucchinunde is best enjoyed drizzled with ghee and dipped in majjige-huli aka mor kozhambu.<\/h2>\n

Ingredients<\/h3>\n
\n
1<\/span> cup<\/span> Toor dal (yellow split pigeon peas)<\/span><\/div>\n
1<\/span> cup<\/span> chana daal (bengal gram)<\/span><\/div>\n
4<\/span> <\/span> green chilies<\/span><\/div>\n
1.50<\/span> <\/span> inch finely chopped ginger<\/span><\/div>\n
10<\/span> <\/span> curry leaves<\/span><\/div>\n
¾<\/span> cup<\/span> coriander leaves<\/span><\/div>\n
¼<\/span> tsp<\/span> asafoetida<\/span><\/div>\n
1<\/span> cup<\/span> grated coconut<\/span><\/div>\n
salt<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Directions<\/h3>\n

In a bowl, Add in Toor Dal and Chana Dal. Wash and soak the lentils for 3 hours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In a Mixer Jar, Add in the washed and soaked lentils, Green Chilies, Ginger(1 inch), Coriander Leaves(1\/2 cup), Curry leaves (4 to 5). grind them together to a coarse paste.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

To this paste add in Ginger (1\/2 inch), Coriander Leaves(1\/4 cup), Asafoetida, Grated coconut, Curry leaves (chopped 4-5), and Salt. Combine all the ingredients together.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Grease the cavities of the Idli Mould.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Take small portions of the paste and shape them into oval dumplings and place them on the greased Idli mold.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Cook them in an idli steamer for 15 to 20 mins.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Nucchinunde is now ready. Serve along with
